Being in Canada how do you heat this place in a Winter? I saw something that reminds of steam or hot water heating radiator (in a bathroom). The heating cost with all windows and concrete walls mmust be very high?
What are the floor coverings? Some sort of carpet?

Very inetersting place .

Thermal insulation between the exterior wall and the internal wall + double-pane argon-filled windows and central convection heating.

Radiators are outdated.

jesus how much do you pay a month for that place? in boston you'd have to be making at least quarter-mill to afford a place like that and still have a life

I am going to guess canada is much cheaper.

Awesome loft though.

It's personally not my style but you're a man of great vision to "see" that project from start to finish. There's no way I could take an empty warehouse, factory, or industrial space and end up with that result! I'm sure a local newspaper (or maybe national magazine!) would be interested in doing a piece on it.

My man! A few details I would tweak (furniture,) but overall just a smashing result. It's all the more impressive that the loft is your own vision and handiwork.

Do you have any photos of the bedroom(s) and kitchen area?

Nicely done, if somewhat unoriginal (that needn't be a bad thing, though). I just wonder if one can keep it looking like that whilst actually living in it.

Montreal has a higher cost of living than Boston. Canada is relatively expensive compared to many American cities.

Check the 2008 Mercer report. If you know something I don't about their methods, please share.

quite impressive from a design standpoint, but in terms of living there it seems to lack warmth. it doesn't look lived in. everything is pristine, like an art museum or gallery space.

Absolutely gorgeous, I love that space.

Where in Montreal is it? I used to live in the Old Port just off McGill St.
