Has anyone purchased a Lock Voyager Hat? These are felt fedoras that fold into a tube for travel. Attractive but expensive. Here is a link:

To the best of my knowledge, Christy's makes hats for both Lock's and Bates', so you may well get exactly the same hat but with a wider choice of colours and the ability to change specifics for the hat, like brim width or crown height...that said My Bates feels like a higher quality fur than either of my Christy's?

The Lock fur felt hats I've handled have always been much higher quality than the Christy's hats. OTOH, I looked at linen flat caps at Bates and Lock last summer - they were identical.

My understanding is that neither Lock's or Bates actually have a manufacturing ability!
This means that they farm out to people like Christy's...I think the only real differance is the quality of the fur used...that offset against price, and the ability to make changes before your hat is made makes Christy's a viable option IMO?
