Lobbs Question

I just saw the Lobb 2005 two tone pair of shoes and it is unreal. I currently wear Gucci, Prada, Barker Black, AE, and Armani shoes. The Lobbs are $1300 and I was wondering are they that much better than all of these? I want to give Lobbs a shot and that pair is stunning. I can afford them, but at the same time I have never spent more than about $750 on shoes. Are they available for a deal anywhere? Does anyone own this pair and can comment on them? Should I wait until the 06's come out and the 05's will go on sale? Lots of questions, just looking for help.

Although you can't tell, those shoes are considered by JL to be defective, hence the cheaper price.

By all means buy from the online seller if you find one that you like.

"Reject" classification does not necessarly means the shoes are defective. It is generally a minor cosmetic flaw and even often not visible. All my JL shoes but two pairs come from modern-vintage or sausages234. I have never been able to actually spot the flaw. I don't believe JL would sell these "R" marked shoes in its factory store if the flaws were visible or detracted from the overall look or quality

I know you can't really see the flaw, that is why I said you can't tell.
But for me, they are reject because they are defective, why else would JL reject them? Whatever the flaw is, they are determined to be not worth selling in the boutique stores.

With that being said, I see nothing wrong buying those shoes online.

No - if someone points the flaw, then you will see it. Whenever I asked the sellers above, they were usually able to point to the flaw (which can for example be a few stitches off, or a dent in the sole/welt...). The flaws on R marked JLs are minor cosmetic flaws, not construction issues. If the shoes were actually defective (e.g. construction wise), they would just not sell them in their factory store

I have purchased rejects from the Lobb factory, and would agree that most of them are generally cosmetically flawed. Still, the last time I was there, there was a corner of the shop that had very very cheap (25GBP) rejects that bore clear visible flaws that greatly detracted from the overall look. I remember a pair of brown suede shoes that were clearly different shades of brown, and a pair of burgandy shoes where the top layer of leather on the toe had peeled off.

What do Lobb rejects cost when bought from the factory store (not ebay)?
