Hi all - following my thread on the Lobb shoes I managed to find at a charity shop, I mailed John Lobb Ltd and enquired about the age and history of the pair that had never been worn.

John Hunter Lobb himself came back to me and in the end we found out that the shoes were actually made in 1976. Amazing - they don't look a day old...

I suppose it speaks volumes on the quality of leather and craftsmandhip used...

It helps that they haven't been worn.

Are they your size?

My size yes - albeit slightly narrow (as ar most shoes). Can't believe they lasted 33 years without being worn / lost / damaged!

If they fit, fantastic find. I'd suggest giving them a lot of neutral shoe cream as they've probably not been polished in a long time.

All I can ever find in shops in London is Wax Polish...

What would be best out of the following (from ebay):

NIKWAX CONDITIONER FOR LEATHER/sponge on conditioner

KIWI SELECT NEUTRAL SHOE CREAM/50ml/revives & cleans

Wow. That's a find. Now try to e-bay them for $13,000.
