I have just ordered a pair of Brown Wadham Oxfords. They are less than half price at Debenhams.
And here they are....

Another great fit from Loake. My first from the Loake Shoemaker collection. I am not a fan of the half insole.

Loake Bedale - comfortable to walk in first time out shopping with Mrs N.B. These are the last of my 3 for 2 imperfect from the Loake Market Harborough outlet. I am still sceptical of Loakes cheaper imports but for these claimed to be M.in E. Goodyear welted boots, I am at least for now pretty impressed.

Picked up these Loake Leven from the 1880 legacy range. £100 on eBay which is a steal for the quality. River last is large on these compared to others. I’m a 10.5 on capital but these are half size too big in 10.5. Something about the split toe design on these I’m not in love with. I imagine the creasing will be worse than standard penny loafers. Ordered the Whitehall instead and considering upgrading to C&J Sydney for the city sole.

I've been wearing a pair of Loake Burfords that i got used from eBay sometime ago and noticed double row of stitching on the welt.
Is this normal on the Burfords or maybe when it was previously resoled, the cobbler be bothered to take out the old stitching ?

A local cobbler quoted me £150 for a full JR resole and £100 extra to replace welt as well.

That looks like the cobbler didn't remove the old stitches.
That's a shame as Loake offer a refurbishment service for about £90, but if it's been done before by someone else they'll refuse to do them.

Theres 2 rows of stitching holes on the welt. Would that mean i would need to replace the welt aswell for a proper job ?
