I have to agree that the Royals with Dr Marten soles do look pretty gross. I can imagine that a younger person might enjoy then, though. I wondered how they got put together. Loake's don't have them on any of their pages and neither do Dr Martens.

A lot of the shoes that Loake sell through their ebay store, and also on the "Web Exclusives" section of their own website, seem to be trail runs of proposed designs or existing shoes down in a different leather etc...

Maybe some are made to be sold by certain retailers. Fort example, the latest Doctor Who wears Loake boots with a Doc Marten style sole. These are specially made for one shop in North London.

Yes a good shoe. Calf would be nice but joins on the inside do not bother me. Discount shoes in Strutton Ground, Victoria are the cheapest retailer.

Hoggs of Fife offer a Royal in pebbled leather with a Dainite sole - the Kenmore. Hoggs often have discounts on their goods.

I've found the Capital last to be TTS. I usually wear a UK7,5, and the Capital last, which the Pimlico uses, was no exception.

Both the Cannon and the Strand are on the Capital last so should be the same.

The Buckinghams are also on the Capital last. Nice looking shoes.

Those Sanders Belgrade longwings are on my wish list. Hopefully I can get a pair before the end of the year.
Still haven't seen them in the flesh. Sanders stockists are thin on the ground. Called into John Rushton Shoes in central London recently, and though they had a lot of Sanders on display, the Belgrade wasn't in stock. Great shop by the way.
