Just polished my 8 month old 1880's Chester, here's the result:

The pictures don't do them justice, but they look like a new pair of shoes again despite having considerable wear over the 8 months.

Does Loake make brogue longwing/wingtip suede derbies?

Nice polishing and care, but the toe shape looks rather flat, probably due to the photo.

A pair of half-brogue 1880s have just been delivered on the capital last ('Strand' I think), courtesy of Herring (including a free shoe tree with the Ask Andy promotion). Second to none customer service from Herring yet again. Far prefer that last to the AE.

How did you get the Ask Andy code to work for Loake shoes? I though it only applied to Herrings own brand.
I have been eying up the Loake Strands for a while, but was thinking I might go for Herring's Hampstead just to get the trees.
And now Herring have discontinued the Hampstead in burgundy.

Very nice, my Chesters are 5 years old and only get nicer with age. Recently got them resoled for the first time with JR soles and it's like having new shoes. Reckon I'll have them for 5 more years.

How much did you pay for the resoling? Sounds good though, 10 years for shoes at this price point can't be argued with!

I'm in Dublin and choice is limited, it cost me €45 for re-heeling and re-soling. It's the best shoe repair in Dublin and the only one that does JR soles so I'd imagine it might be cheaper elsewhere. Still very happy even at that cost.

Anyone seen the Loake Heston's in person? I'm having a hard time finding anything about them or anything about the Claridge last and its respective fit.

I'm from Dublin, and back there occasionally.
Where abouts is the best shoe repair there?

Looks like a new last from Loake, so not many would know about it, but you can ask Loake or retailers like Herring and Pediwear, looks like a cross between capital and mayfair.

I have the patent shoes on the Claridge last. The fit is very similar to the Capital last with but with a rounder toe box

The Italian Heel Bar off Sth Anne Street is easily the best I've used.
