i have handled ae and i think loake 1880 is superior.
I am planning on ordering two pairs of Loake Cannon from Pediwear and I was wondering
if anyone knew the customs taxation for those items.
Here's my question:
* Say I order 2 pairs at once, will they tax me 20% on each item or 20% on the whole order?
(I hate import taxes)
Doesn't that all work out the the same thing? Anyway, buying two identical pairs of shoes at once, online.... Wouldn't it be better to buy one pair and see that they fit okay first?
Yeah guess you are right they would be the same amount.
One pair is for me and another for a friend.
Thanks for the response.
I am speechless, just so you know, there is shipping fee of 18 pounds per pair.
Yep just ordered em.*
- Total came out to a fair price.
I have the loake tweed in tan and i really like them, also the rubber and leather soles are great to handle the cobblestone. I can use them if it rains or if it's dry. The cobblestone pavement here is slippery even dry and very irregular.
I put a topy on the combination sole, since the outer edges are leather.
really? you put a toppy over the combination sole? i bought them like that cause i didn't wanted to put topy
The parts that gets worn, the toe and sides, are not protected
yes i understand, but i think i would wear them without topys if i could, but the damn cobblestone....
Try them without topys and then make a call on how it wears and what would work for you. if you can get them resoled easily when they get worn out (ie. in the UK where cobblestone are common? or nearby where postage isn't exorbitant), go without. wurger topys them as it makes them last longer and negates the need to send them back half around the world (which would hurt the wallet a lot)
Yeah, my reasoning exactly, and no slippery slides, which are very scary!
I wasn't judging. Only surprise. But i understand topying them.
I try to have a rotation to make them last longer.
And yes it will be hard to resole them.
And what about dainite soles?
Build a rotation of at least 30 pairs. And wear 1 pair a month. Every year you will only wear a pair for 12 days - once a month. And your shoes should last you 10-15 years. You will never need to topy another pair.
