Do you want me to stand in for Sator?

If so, I would go with hyperbolic.

I appreciate the kind words!

Now, if I could just stop buying shoes.

No contest on both counts. But careful readers will note that you don't disagree that either experience would be improved if you didn't have to look.

Those with old school knowledge: everyone* prefers casual shoes in brown rather than black. Why, then, do almost all the older, east coast types I know wear black loafers (weejuns, gucci, or other).

*well, not everyone.

Only an explanation in French will do: jolie-laid.

+1. BTW, you're the only person on here who would call $500 loafers disposable. Well, maybe Portnoy.

Perhaps you should reintroduce the concept of shoes for the AM and shoes for the PM to double your usage rate and halve your resoling rate.

While we're on the topic, there is an austerity brogue loafer in pebblegrain on BB clearance right now. I'm considering them, but they're not Peal. They claim to be Goodyear welted. Anyone got any thoughts on who made them, or if they're any good?

They'd be my first loafers - they seem a bit of a confused animal but they still look cool to my eye.

Wearing a Gucci loafer is like eating an ice cream cone: repair to original condition is not possible; only replacement.
