1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I see that you still hate Chicago.

I'm getting over it. It used to make me angry to think about. Now I'm just mildly regretful.

I think Jcusey's keeping the tradition alive and well. Or so his blog suggested.
    JCusey has a blog? Links?

I don't care what RJ says, snark is not an answer!

    How's this? Loafer timeline:

1836: Elastic gusset town shoe invented

1900: Aurland shoe (moccasin front loafer) from Norway exhibited at the Paris Expo.

1932: The Spauldings in NH invent the term "loafer" to describe their remake of the Aurland

1934: The Basses in Maine create the Weejun.

1951: Alden invents the tassel loafer.

1966: Gucci introduces the horsebit moccasin loafer.

    2009: Matt needs shoes.

Maybe you should go into internet couples counseling, like Manton+FNB, or thekunk07+his right hand.

So, you mean the elastic gusset town shoe was invented way back in 1836, and ever since then, people have been making different, better-looking shoes instead? It's like the story of the steam-powered horseless carriage.

Counseling is for people that want to be together, even if sub-consciously. Chicago never wanted me, and I never wanted Chicago.

I have those, and they're very nice for a skinstitched loafer.

C&J's brown cordo is particularly nice in all the versions that they do.

I have these, and though on a very slim/sleek last (EG 101 I believe), they are a wonderful loafer.

    EG Belgravia, nutmeg suede.

EG Picadilly, chestnut, if you are less adventurous.
