Loafers with tassels only for youngsters?

Bought a very nice pair of loafers. Now my wife is in doubt. She thinks that the tassels doesn't fit with my age.

She is a very lovely lady. But is she right? Are loafers with tassels not for me? (age 52).

Never heard this before. I've always associated tassels with old men.

I don't think it's true, but generally what I hear is that tassles tend to make you look older, not younger.

Buy them...wear them...enjoy them. I'm a bit older than you and have three pair of tassels in my shoe rotation...and am considering a fourth pair!

I'm in my mid-30's and I shamlessly wear my AE Maxfield tasseled loafers to work and to social events.

I would think tasselled loafers were associated with older people, not youngsters.

That said young french ultra-conservatives wore them as an identifying mark at some point, or so I have heard.

As others have mentioned, they definitely have an "older guy" connotation.

If you like them, wear them.
