I have a quick question how do the LL Bean shirts compare to Brooks or H&K or H&H shirts? Are they a large cut, boxy, loose?

I am thinking of this http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/34442?feat=589-GN1 and are the wrinkle resistant shirts chemically treaded for a non iron finish?

thanks

They will be large cut, but I believe they offer a slim version. Haven't actually tried it myself. I do have a Lands-End oxford in a slim cut. It's not particularly slim, but it works well for me.

The non-irons are chemically treated to make them wrinkle less.

Very large and boxy - comparable to the Brooks Brothers classic fit. I recently noticed LL Bean introduced a "Trim Fit" for dress shirts.

I assume that the wrinkle-resistant shirts are chemically treated - is there another way? (I don't like the feel of wrinkle-resistant shirts and honestly don't know the answer to that question.)

Beans offers sport shirts in their Signature line, which are listed in a separate store on llbean.com. They are a trimmer fit, but I don't know how they compare to the other two fits. FWIW, I do have a pair of Signature jeans. The fit is very slim - slimmer than my Levi's 514 jeans - which I like.

I tried the new trimmer fit - still way too baggy for me.

I have 1 trim fit and 1 regular fit, but can only compare them to BB, which I also have in reg and slim... I would call them pretty comparable, but the LL Bean trim/slim are not really slim fit, just slimmer.

They have the most profound anti-wrinkle treatment of any shirts I've owned. Seriously plasticky.

They are okay work shirts, and people often compliment me on their crisp appearance, but, due to the plastic feeling, I won't buy any more.

The shirts are quite roomy, but please note that the "trim" fit are shorter in the length of the tail. I have one slim oxford and it is about as trim as a BB slim fit, but the lack of length is noticable. Several people have mentioned this in the reviews so it's not just me. And they are very chemically stiffened- not anywhere near as soft as BB non-irons, even after several washes. But they come out of the dryer looking less wrinkled than the BB shirts, so they are good for traveling.
