I assume Alex is still working on Rogues Gallery (I hope?).

I don't trust that ex Hickey guy.

Sounds interesting. Though I'm more interested in them getting the details and fabrics right than in slim fit

I'm always interested in both myself.

I think at the price range that they are shooting for, the slim fit is the most that you can reasonably expect.

I used to wear LL Bean all the time when I was a kid but haven't purchased anything from them in years, as their fits are traditionally huge and boxy. At the same time, I would never pay $200 for a plaid shirt; I don't think most Bean customers would, either. A Signature line would occupy a very happy middle ground.

    A few thoughts, though ...

    1. What the hell took so long? Lands' End has been offering tailored fits for years now, and they've proven popular. Several old-school brands have jumped on the fashion bandwagon a while ago (Woolrich, Wolverine, etc.)

    2. Will slim-fit plaid shirts and buffalo jackets prove popular beyond the current Americana fashion trend?

Sounds great. I would love if he'd tailor up the Chamois Cloth shirts, which is a Bean classic and a personal favorite. An updated version of the original Field Jacket would be fantastic as well.

Interesting news. I'd be curious if Orvis would be moved to do something similar--they've been around as a company for nearly as long, I think, as Bean. Probably something in the archives they could refresh.

I'm very excited about this. I have family in Portland, and we visit the LL Bean store (the original one) the 1-2 times a year we're there. Typically there is not much appealing about the clothing selection, but this looks quite promising.

Wonder if Carleton would bring his Quoddy collab. back to LL Bean (as they were the original makers of Bean mocs)?

Is this going to be part of the LL Bean Signature line? http://www.valetmag.com/style/produc...-0-081909.php/
Ugh, things that should not be remade...

It's probably not part of the signature stuff, seeing how that will be available in F/W of this year.

All the cool kids wore those in junior high. I didn't have one because even back then I liked to buck the trend. It wasn't because I wasnt cool.
