Please read carefully:

As some of you know I am starting a new career and am liquidating my exisitng eBay inventory. I have sold on ebay as sam**** for 10 years. I have prepared a list of 100 items which is available below or an be sent as an MS Word attachment upon request.

Pictures of most items are available immediately as JPEG's, others I will need to take upon request which I am happy to do, I only ask that you request that I take additiional photos as a serious buyer because it is time consuming. If you are seriously considering an item I can take high-def photos. I am avaialable by PM, e-mail ([email protected]) or I can arrange to speak by phone (I am up most of the day).

My policy is that the first person to say "I'll take it" gets it. If the sale falls through I will offer a right of first refusal to each subsequent reqeust in the order it was received. Payment or an e-mail saying its on the way is expected within 3 days of the sale. *I am trying to sell as a lot for a flat fee below, therefore I am holding all sales for a period of five days to see if anyone will accept the offer. Any sales made will be entirely refunded if I can accomplish such a sale.

Pricing - I think my prices are more than fair. As such they are "pretty firm". I will consider discount for quantity, repeat purchases and will consider reasonable offers. The worst I can do is say "no". Please do not send me or post any hate mail regarding my pricing. If you have an issue with a listing or its price please send me a simple e-mail and I will address it promptly and should you find a mistake I will try to offer you a discount on that or another item you are interested in. I will also try to offer a small discount for any referrals made to this listing, that can be worked out if the situation arises.

Shipping.....shipping in the US is calcualted now by destination for USPS Priority Mail with tracking (a calculator is available at USPS.com, senders zip is 18428) for a shipping quote please e-mail me. For combined sales of over $500 I will cover the shipping.
INTERNATIONAL: International shipping MUST include a service with tracking. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Returns - Returns accepted if item received with an undocumented major defect or if non-conforming goods received i.e. listing said blue and you receive green. I know members of this forum are usually good people...I will try as best I can to male sure everyone is satisfied with their purchase, unfortunately I cannot offer a blanket return polcy but will try to make reasonable adjustments when possible.

Payment - I prefer a check or money order...I will accomodate Paypal request however I cannot say how much I hate paypal, perhaps the biggest reason I have migrated from eBay (sorry for the rant)

SPECIAL OFFER!!!!!!!!!!!!

The combined price for everything listed below is $24,894.....I will see EVERYTHING, all 100 items (+ a few stragglers I have) for $19,999 FOB my facility in Hawley, PA (2 hours from NYC)! I'm not a wholesale buyer, or even an ebay seller, but I have to tell you there looks to be very little, if any, room to profit with these prices. $1,3000 for a brown Oxxford suit? $500 for an H-F suit? $600 for a polo sportscoat? These are not wholesale prices, these are Ebay Highest Bids on a good day. There are some good deaqls sprinkled in your list, to be sure, but I really think you will have to reconsider the firmness of your prices to spark much interest from the flippers here.

Also, a $20K sales pitch as a member with 2 posts is gonna be a pretty tough sell.

the prices are good. the prices just aren't good if you intend to resell them. now, if you could wear them, they're certainly competitive.

Sam may not have many posts here, but he has been selling clothes on ebay for longer than anyone I know of, and has a sterling reputation.

Indeed. I think my original post may have conveyed more snark than I had intended. There's some choice pieces there (# 30, for example, sounds like a great jacket at a great price), but if Sam wants to sell the lot, I think he'll need to cut a bigger discount.

If he's willing to take the trouble of measuring and photographing the items, I'd imagine he could do quite well with much of that stuff (the sports jerseys I'm not so sure about though)

+1. I've bought some great pieces from Sam (who has posted more on Ask Andy) and he's a excellent seller.

Thank you all for oyur kind postings. In regards to some of the above:
1. The "business" has changed a lot, with more competition and increased seller costs prices have fluctuated, that said I like to think my quality has remained constant i.e. most of my offerings are 1-3 seasons old. Case in point, the Oxxford suit was mentioned, when I began selling Oxxford about 7 yrs ago an Oxxford suit could be bought at retail in the slighlty above $2k range and BC few people on eBay had them I could get $700-$1200, now you can't touch one for under $3k (the one I have listed for $3250 at Barney's in '06). This is not a complaint but rather an analysis of the current market, like all businesses I will have to adjust. I don't want people to think I am trying to rip them off, if items fail to sell I will happily lower prices, if anything it might help me become more of a name on this forum. (As an aside, while I enjoy the discussions here I have held a day job, been a full-time graduate student and done eBay concurrently hence my inability to participate as actively here as I owuld have liked).
2. Anyone is welcome to submit an offer on any item listed and I am happy to provide pics/measurements albeit with some delay as I have had many requests. As I said I am lookign to liquidate.
3. The $20k offer is admittedly a reach for these boards but I wanted to throw it out there, if anyone is truly interested please PM or e-mail me privately.
4. BC I know it is hard to get a feel for the item without actually seeing it I am willing to take back items sold domestically (US) for a full refund - the costs of shipping. I understand that this may reult in some small loss, unfortunately I am not a large store with the ability to offer such a policy however I will provide a full refund inclusive of shipping should the item not conform to the listing.
5. I have received many e-mails.....if you don't receive one back immediately please don't fret...you will receive one shortly.

Thank you, if anyone has any questions/concerns/comments pleae e-mail me, I am available by phone as well.

Regards,

-sam
