  • Epaulet x Styleforum Alpine Loden Collection

Loden wool, woven in Tirol for centuries, is known for its resistance to cold and wetness. Our project in collaboration with Epaulet introduces Alpine Loden, a modern 18oz fabric blend of 75% merino wool and 25% nylon, woven in Italy. It's lighter, more durable, wind-resistant, and more comfortable than traditional Loden fabric. Partnering with Rochester Tailored Clothing, we offer custom garments like sportcoats, suits, and overcoats, made to your specifications. Learn more about the Loden collection here.

I'm getting a linen suit made.
My tailor is suggesting a fused suit.
I did some googling and am now not as certain as I was before.
What should the construction look like?
  • No lining/half lining?
  • Unstructured/Structured?
  • Fused/Half canvas?
  • Other things I need to look at?

I'd say anything but fused. Being a linen suit ideally a summer garment, I would prefer no lining with light canvassing.

If the jacket is fused it won't be breathable. It'll wear warm. I'd go for a very light (camel) canvas with no padding in the jacket but little wadding for roped sleeveheads. If ease of wear in a humid climate then go safari re Roger Moore as 007.
