Like Saddleback, but made in the USA (and pricier)

In my all-consuming quest for a new briefcase, I stared by looking at Saddleback. A great product — I loved the look, but I preferred a bag made in the USA. I recently stumbled cross ColsenKeane, a maker of bags here in the US that is about the closest I've found to Saddleback. It looks great, but I can't vouch for the quality, I'm just positing this as another option for those interested in made in the USA Saddleback-type bag.

I've seen some excellent briefcase threads here. But tell me, does anyone actually use the shoulder straps that come with the more casual bags (such as these, or say Filson canvass bags)? I would have thought that played havoc with the shoulders of tailored jackets.

I do, but I frequently flip the strap so that the smoother side is against my jacket if I'm not wearing some kind of outerwear. It still takes some of the load off and doesn't bunch up the fabric.

Good lord, what is that . . . 1 - 1.5 stitches per inch? Those are not on par with saddleback and the price is outrageous based on the stitching alone. I'm actually offended by the audacity.

Wow - I didn't even notice that at first. You're right - that's one loooow stitch count.

I use the shoulder straps on my Filson. But then again, I am kinky and wear tweed.
