Yea...but as bad as life can be, it is still way more interesting than death.

Besides, are you saying you have never enjoyed a good dump or lay?

i was at a bar tonight, and at a certain point i became disgusted with the alcohol, and these ugly girls were hitting on me, and i wanted to **** them, but i knew it was only due to the alcohol, and i just became disgusted with the whole thing. and every once in a while a song would come on the jukebox and everyone would sing along, but it was always a stupid song, and i didn't want to sing along. there is something sick about our existence... we vomit, we defecate, we have bad breath when we wake up in the morning, and at the same time everyone puts up airs like we are special.

i look at the next generation of my family, those who are 3 or 4 years old, and they have no sex drive, and i think that's the way it should be. this whole mating and drinking and drugs and music, and movies, and entertainment in general, it's just really ******* stupid. "dude, did you read the last ____ graphic novel?" **** you. i feel like we're all on drugs--even those of us who don't do drugs.

dumb rant i know. but something is wrong here, and not just with me. my friends are all married and miserable. i'm single and miserable, with no desire to be like them, and i walk through this world with the impression that few people make decisions out of joy and most make them out of fear.

i'm babbling, but i just want to say that i'm disgusted by all of this. i believe in God and it seems to me that i'm (we are) above this. that this is all beneath me (us) and yet i've been put in this world, i've been handed this experience for God-knows-what reason.

In all seriousness:
if you have the chance to, take a walk in (a beautiful part of) nature.
It sounds like you are mostly disgusted by civilization.
Sunshine, a nice green forest, could do wonders I think.

It can feel great to have a good poop; especially if you have to go real bad. Same for taking a wizz.

The feeling of relief is awesome.

That is all I have to contribute to this thread.

Drunk poasting should be comical, not depressing.

Reading some Existentialist text may help. Their struggle is man's struggle in finding value in an inabsolute world. Albert Camus is very accessible if you've had no contact with that movement. Move on from there.

1. If we all do something such as defecation, in fact since it is an essential part of existence - why would it then be humiliating?

2. Do we not all wear a mask at times, if only to show our audience the face we want them to see?

Amen, brother. Going to work, getting home tired, getting drunk and wasting days in bed hung over, and ******* random chicks, leaving them worse off than you found them. The city life is really pretty depressing at times. It can be the most exciting place to live - and then it can be the most pathetic existence as well. I felt much of what you felt. I decided to take a sabbatical from work and get out of NYC...you can follow that in my other thread. Point is, I think getting out of your situation for a couple of months and getting a new perspective on things can only help. Nothing that you are feeling is wrong. Think of it this way - your aim in life should be to grow and understand the world around you, and to come to terms with it on your own, not by someone else's rules or prescriptions. The first step to this awakening is often this kind of exasperated disgust with the whole situation. You can't get to where you want to be without going through this. And you will be happy you did in the long run. Remember, many people do not feel this way because they never step back and question what they are doing. They end up disrespecting themselves and sleeping around, or getting "happily" married young and realizing they never really got to experience all life has to give. You should be happy you are going through this.

I second this. Try reading The Myth of Sisyphus if you can handle dense writing.
