Fang, you sound really bitter about something, and I'm pretty sure it's neither the (Australian? New Zealand?) pizza or ham bones you so desire...

From the work I've read, Fang seems like a promising new poster.

I once had Mexican food in London, I surprisingly made it out alive but was scarred for life.

I wasn't aware such a thing existed.

You need to say this movie:

I wish the eps of "striptease" (basically interviews with real people that are batshit crazy) were subbed, especially the Belgian guy who wanted to be in the army to "be a good killer" and ran into some problems or the nice neo nazi or oh **** so many good ones.

I dunno, man. Dragon is right; you can get a good pizza in Tokyo about everywhere you turn, and I don't know about this lack of 'foreigner specialty item' bullshit - many supermarkets in Tokyo have everything you'd need to cook anything even a talented cook would want to, and there are still a few popular 'foreigner specialty' markets to cater to people who are still living in the 1980's, though you can get everything most places elsewhere as well. What's the difference between going up to a counter and ordering a ham bone or a leg of lamb in Japan, or the rest of the first world? ******* christ, it's not like like they just saran wrap 10 of them at every supermarket in the world and sit them out everyday. FWIW they have a whole fridge at Kinokuniya of offal and other rare butcher's cuts indeed packed, priced, and ready to go - caul fat and sweetbreads among them.

Everything else is LOL. Sounds like somebody is frustrated.

I've had Mexican food in Hong Kong (people who've been to HK probably know the place, it's in Soho IIRC) - frankly, after a few years of not having Mexican food, it actually tasted good, and I've been back subsequently.

Would an accurate barometer for measuring the quality of Mexican food be the degree and severity of the ensuing bout of postprandial diarrhea?

That depends on whether it's world-class diarrhea with a bit of bitchiness, or just mediocre diarrhea with world class aspirations.

How would one make the distinction upon examination of the stool in question?

You can't read can you, I haven't expressed desire for any of these things in fact I have explicitly stated that I tend to eat Japanese food. The question is about the availability or lack of a range of products in a so called world class city. I love Tokyo it is a great place but that doesn't preclude me from criticising the joint.
