Anyone try these? They call them their full-fitting bootcut, but I'm not sure what "full fit" means from Levis, as I haven't had any since my Silvertabs in high school. I saw GetSmart's skinny Cap Es in his thread, and liked the wash, and my guess is that these are the ones that would fit me best, but I'm not sure. Also, how slim are the skinners? How would each of these compare, say, to 7 or CoH bootcuts (for those who have tried them)? For those interested, the link to the Levi's store site where these are is here: http://www.levisstore.com/product/in...entPage=family

All I can say is that these are very baggy. Personally, I don't like the fit at all. Sorry for the generalized description. If you want any additional info, please ask.

Thanks for the reply. I certainly don't want very baggy, but looking at pics and descriptions, I am affraid the other Capital E jeans would be too tight on my thighs. Any additional suggestions from that line?

They seem like something I'd like. They appear to be looser than the other models, which is good because I find them to be too tight most of the time. I doubt theyre baggy. Most of the other models are too tight or if I size them to fit comfortably in the legs then the waist is too big and saggy.

Are they comparable to a ES hemingway or PDC ICN fit?

hope this helps, i just pulled out a brand new pair that I have had in my closet and never got around to returning...

size as labeled 32x30

measure across waist 16.5
measure across thigh 13 inches
leg opening a little bit over 10 inches

Capital E Skinners don't seem to be as slim as Premium Skinners

Size as labeled 33x32
waist measures true
12 1/2 across thigh
and 9 3/4 at the leg opening

*Selling both of these by the way. Unfortunately, I do not have a Levis store anywhere near me so usually phone order and hope for the best. Neither one of these fit me well. I have had them for a while and can't find the reciepts so don't know if I can return them. Any reasonable offers considered.

The Ambler is a looser bootcut like the 7 or the Earnest Sewn Hemingway. The Skinner is the Low Rise boot cut. The front rise is about 9 or 10" and it has a slimmer bootcut leg. It is tighter fitting than the Ambler. The Skinner fits more like the G-Star low boot. The Skinner is a classic. The Skinny jean you saw in Getsmarts thread was the stacked skinny. It is the tightest jean and it has a long inseam that bunches at the ankle. It has a really straight skinny leg. I bought one of these and they are the best jeans I have bought in a while. The matchstick is another skinny jean but it has a regular inseam. It is kind of like the 606 from the late 60's.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
