Levi's back pocket tag

Would someone have any information on a back pocket tag on a pair of Levi's I've had in my closet for some time. It is an orange tag but only has a big R in a circle without the Levi's name. I know they are Levi's because they have the back leather patch. This raised my curiosity because all my other Levi's states so on those tags. Thanks!!

Nothing unusual. Some tags have Levi's on them, others just the R.

I have a few pair like this, never did know why they didn't say levi's, but they are definitely levi's. Maybe they just had a few lable/tag misprints and sold the suckers anyhow. I don't wear orange tags much anymore, only red 501's tags. Check out my jeans, if you want to, http://buckgreaser.com Thanks, Buck

Yes, they needed to have the (R) to protect the LeVI's trademark.

I read they only mark every 100. Maybe it changes based on where they're manufactured?
