Figured some around here would be interested to see these. Bought two pairs and one has been worn very sparingly to see the progress on the others. Bought them a year ago and they’ve not been available for some time. I wish I bought more because the only way to get anything like this with non stretch denim is to go with 501s and I love the fit of these. Stretch 511s are less roomy than these and these seem to be the perfect fit for my build. 501/505s seem just a hint too baggy in the legs for me.
I would call the look a bit more vintage because they’ve had 5-6 washes in this time and I wear them 3-4 times a week or more depending on my work schedule. I would have likely torn them if I used them for work from the level of dirt and grime I work in. The only problems I’ve had is the fraying on top of the pocket from my phone and one self repaired zipper when the zipper stop ripped off. That was an easy fix. The large iPhone is a bit of a squeeze to put it in the top of my pocket and for ease of use I wish I stuck with the smaller one. Considering I always have my iPad with me when I travel I would have preferred the smaller phone. I’ve yet to bother with a pocket fix as I’m not sure the best way to do it.
When I do finally get around to daily wearing the other ones I’ll be disappointed if Levi never brings these back, but I’m debating the 501 Made & Crafted and sizing down one in the waist because these get a bit baggy in the waist between washes and the sized down 501s should split the difference on fit.
