Columbia monteblanco blueberry co ferment from Brandywine is sold out
I am truly amazed it lasted as long as it did. Ordered my first bag on July 11, and ended up getting 4 bags in total. Final one is on its way to me now. If you really want to try some, I'd be happy to mail you 20g or so.

Very kind of you to offer. Better if I don’t know. No regrets

I see a lot of people like Chromatic - I currently have a subscription with Intelligentsia - worth it to switch over?

I think the place is worth a try, but I don't subscribe. My wife was out in the Bay Area for a work trip this week and stopped by on her way to the office from the airport.

My introduction to good coffee came at Barefoot Coffee Roasters, which spawned Chromatic before moving to Los Gatos and Campbell. Chromatic later moved, and Paper Moon was born from them. Paper Moon has been shuttered, and Chromatic remains my favorite Bay Area roaster.

Somehow, Orchard Valley Coffee is now in the original Barefoot location at Stevens Creek and Lawrence, which kind of blows my mind because that was one of my favorites before I became a coffee snob. Just typing that brings back memories of sitting in their cafe in Campbell with a coffee and a pastry after running on the Los Gatos Creek Trail.

Travelling to London and Edinburgh next month.

Please suggest some roasters and cafés.

As an aside it’s weird how I satiated (well almost) my clothes, bags and shoes obsession from a decade ago only to acquire a new one, and then came back to find some of the same folk here. Says something about the nature of obsession, I guess?

Anyway, my setup: Gaggiuino middles Gaggia, Cafelat Robot, KafaTek MC6 and a K Ultra for travel. Brewers- V60, Aeropress, Pulsar and Bird.

Mazzer Philos single doser up for preorder on the 24th. Think I'm going to step up from using the wife's Baratz Virtuoso.

Thought about the Zerno but it doesn't appeal to me as much and there's the wait. Philos is supposed to ship in two waves, October and November.

When I'm in Chicago, I visit Intelli, and when I'm in Oakland, I visit Modern, who sources Chromatic. I don't know that I find one considerably better than the other. Both are good roasters and I enjoy having multiple roasters in rotation rather than subscribing to the same.

Try another roaster; order a bag and see if you like it, then decide.
I’m lucky; coffee shops I visit do a great job of finding and stocking beans from several great roasters. They do the homework and I get to choose.
At present I really like Flower Child in Oakland, CA.
Will get a bag or two when I’m in their cafe next week

Ok so some reactions to what I purchased i
I may have a problem. My gf said im not allowed to buy any more coffee but joke's on her: Swing's was out of Mocha Java so my order was incomplete.

(Also: Zekes does local delivery tuesdays and Fridays so i had an order sent to my hotel. On Friday as Im checking out i saw a package from Zekes that had two of the same bags and said theres no way someone else ordered what I did and sure enough they hadn't. Zekes sent me the same order.... the Haitian is too roasted. Haven't had the Honduras. The yirgacheffe is good. Rich choclatey blueberry.)

Reactions: still havent had the Honduras. Should probably just vacuum seal the bag and freeze.

The swings was very roasty and a bit unevenly roasted. Kind of disappointed because I've like swings for years. It's one bag so not saying too much about their coffee overall. On my last day I did get an espresso tonic and they used a whole bottle of fever tree to one shot. That was not great.

The small planes is good. I picked up lots of lime on the nose.

Im not sure the Haitian is redeemable. I found by accident Lance Hedricks aeropress video and he has a 30g recipe for dark roasts. Mine is still ground pretty finely but I am really enjoying the Swings using that recipe. The Haitian is still bleh but maybe if i grind as coarsely as he says it will improve. The Ethiopian from Zekes is fine.

Currently have a subscription to Intelligentsia, which I like a lot. Zekes is local to me, so that's my go to if we run low (shipment delayed, or house guests etc. result in more coffee usage)

See above... might give Chromatic a try.

This co-ferment set from Perc arrived today. Used a promo code from one of their emails to take $13 off.

I have not had a co-ferment from them yet but the other coffees I've had from Perc have been decent. Cinnamon is an unforgiving spice that has ruined many beers I've tried, so I'm hoping it's subtle.

Black & White did a cinnamon processed a while back and, while I didn't really care for it on filter, it made a pretty tasty cortado.
