Respect for drinking drip brew coffee?
Or because I drank Kopi Luwak? I've got no problem with it. I've eaten fish sperm, so I didn't have any doubt when drinking Kopi Luwak.

i do inverted steeping as well. it's the same procedure really, but you might have to experiment a little cuz it's not quite double as you add less water the more coffee you put in due to space constraints

Just make sure the total mass of water at the end is the same. For example, I've been doing the diluted thing with the Aeropress for a few weeks now because I wanted more coffee. I use 22 g coffee, 360 g water, but when I steep in the Aeropress, I usually use only 220 g water with all 22 g of coffee because that's all that will fit. Same steep time as before.

After the coffee's pressed out, I add 140 g more water, and stir a little bit. Just make sure the water you add at the end is warm so you don't lower the temperature of the brew too much. I just boil 360 g of water to start, use 220 for the press, and add the remaining 140 after the press. The water's still pretty warm.

Dilution will make a milder, sweeter cup even if the masses are all the same, so adjust to your taste. The press may be more difficult because you're going through more grounds.

ay is right. by weight is prolly easiest to do.

you find that brewing time stays the same even with more coffee?

I'm using the same brewing time, and I think Thom at Sweet Maria's also says about the same thing: http://www.sweetmarias.com/clevercoffeedripperpictorial.php

I've tasted the undiluted brew from my previous post, and it is very, very strong. I'd suggest experimenting: if it's too weak, then add less water after pressing the next time.

This was my solution, though I only use one for work week mornings (make it for my wife on the way out -- get mine at the office) and then haul out the second on the weekends.
This is what we do -- sort of "Aeromericano" if you will ... :tounge:

Have a big zojirushi which makes adding however much water you'd like very simple.

Sadly, no. I think it is an inherent function of the design -- there is always going to be liquid left behind in the "plunger basket" (not sure what else to call it) that won't come out until the apparatus is removed from the pot. I think this also contributes to the messy clean-up :censored:

Nah. Nespresso isn't instant coffee. Nespresso is actually decent.
Nescafe is instant though and that tastes like ass.
