Both of the casual shoe choices I was considering for summer - vintage blue Nike blazers and white espadrilles - are insanely popular over here, with a crowd that I can't quite put my finger on but don't want to emulate. The jeans - with - elastic - cuffs crowd. Yeck.

I find summer is hard time of year to dress for. There are times it gets so hot and humid I just can't be bothered putting in much of an effort. T-shirts also don't look that good on me any more. I'll be sticking to light grays, and blues, with minimal patterns. Which kind of sounds boring.

Good part about living in the UK is I get to wear outerwear some of the time during the summer. It was rough living in the valley in california though, way too hot to do anything ever.

Stockton for a few years before I moved here to the UK (North Wales), and in the foothills before that (Calaveras county). 100+ all day every day was just unbearable even in gym shorts and a t-shirt.

The summer is usually half decent here, I think. But that may just be because I'm used to unreasonably hot summers.

valley is the fucking worst in the summer. 100+ fahrenheit heat combined with stop-n-go traffic, smell of fast food, auto shops and strip malls on each block...the worst

i've decided on a few things for the summer

    - some kind of long sleeve hooded pull over, probably in white linen or poplin. cause fuck the sun and sunscreen. if i'm walking around with the sun on full blast i wanna be able to cover up neck and face completely even if it means looking like a desert person.

    - slutty AA tanks

    - black shorts, need to figure this out soon. don't want to pay $400 for damir doma

    - white baller hi's or just chucks, considering espadrilles too

    recs welcome

Bay Area is the best for all seasons

    Regarding the black shorts^

I have thought long and hard on some drop crotch, drapey shorts but I think something a bit more structured would suit me better. Just placed an order on those front pleated Uniqlo shorts in black and navy.
Tank or tee with some Nike or slim shoes and its going to look great.

Patrik Ervell tropical wool shorts on the cheap IMO.
