1458 + 38 = 1496
Are you guys doing sets or turn out 30+ straight? Either way, I am impressed.
...I know you can do more than that...
I do sets, before I got hurt I could do 20 pull ups straight and I would do 100 x 3.
I got hurt and I am now getting back in shape and I am doing chin ups, soon I will start to contribute.
3 sets of 3 is all I could do and they were chin ups, not pull ups, hope they still count.
1512 + 7 (I know . . . ) = 1519
I'm confused as to the difference between chin-ups and pull-ups. My understanding is that they are the same thing.
I have never been able to kick out 20 straight. I've gotten close, and that was when I was underweight at close to 150 lbs. Now I am 25 lbs heavier (I should actually sit at around 165 lean, but I am 175-178, and that last 10 lbs or so is not lean, at all. I can do 15 straight, when rested but not cold (i.e. if I have waited a fair bit after a set of something else on the circuit). I'm going to see if I can hit that 20 by the end of the summer. Anyway, zero today (rest day, just some pushups to keep warm).
I reread my comment.... I am not sure what I was smoking last night lol either I was strong before and do not remember or my memory is not what it use to be.
LA Guy so whats the deal, are chin-ups counting as 1 or as .5, seems like thatguymj is counting them as 1.
I'll pitch in to move it along. Every now and again I do the 100-rep 'challenge' I saw on some youtube vid or something - basically 100 pull-ups as quickly as you can. (dead hangs btw, not those kipping things I have seen a .gif of)
Today I did 100 pull-ups in 19 mins 21 secs
1519 + 100 = 1619
1619 + 32 = 1651
Chin ups have your palms facing towards you and thus you get more bicep involvement, pull ups have your palms facing away from you and give you more lat involvement.
Ah. Thank you.
Hmmm... Do you do anything in between, or just rest? I might be able to do this if I rest only (my pullups are always as part of a circuit, total time of about 45 minutes). If I am doing any upper body in between? No way.
1651 + 25 = 1676
FYI. at this rate we're only going to get 28-30k or so.
I do it every now and again to replace my normal back workout, so nothing in between. I like it because of the change and it meaning back is done in around 20 mins. Feels odd to be in and out of the gym in 20 mins, but trust me the few days' DOMs act as a reminder it's all you need (well, for me anyway). First time I gave it a shot I had 6 day DOM
I noticed that as well. I might do an odd day of pull up varieties instead of doing my normal routine of weights/gravity just to help a little more. Why you gotta quote my post then mention how much fail is going on? I hate you.
