This isn't fair. I understand the guys anger. $475 is a lot of money, and when you think you've gotten a good deal like that and saved it, only to have it ripped out from under you sucks. But imagine if Leffot had $475 ripped out from under then for every sale.
They don't only deal with those guys. I bust my ass for the little I do get to spend on my shoes (not that ibankers and lawyers don't, but I gotta bust it a lot longer to be able to buy a pair of shoes at Leffot) and I find Steve to be friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful when it came to the orders I placed. Same for Tom at LeatherSole. These guys are in the business of creating, marketing, and selling these kinds of shoes. Frankly, I'm grateful for them. My wife, not so much.
And yes, don't count your chickens before they hatch. Guaranteed Leffot would have lost customers if they didn't do what the OP thinks they did.

Starting a thread with the title "Leffot is a bunch of whinyass babies.." sure seems like whiny ass baby behavior to me.
The series of event seem to be.
1. OP orders from Leffot.
2. EG responds they can do it for $475 less.
3. OP cancels Leffot order.
4. OP puts deposit down with EG.
5. OP posts that it was cheaper to order direct from EG.
6. Leffot sees the post, says to EG "Hey you bastards, this was supposed to be exclusive to my shop".
7. EG cancels the order.
8. OP vows Inigo Montoya like revenge upon Leffot.

OP, did you try contacting Steve at Leffot?
It depends what the agreement was when OP placed the order. Just as he was probably allowed to cancel the Leffot order within x days (or hell, maybe hours), EG may have something in their order policy that allows them to cancel within a certain number of days. You'd have to go check their websites most likely.
Next time , the OP will not come on here bragging about it....

Nick, I became a customer of yours based on your reputation on this forum. You probably get significant business due to posters describing your great customer service and business practices - business that would otherwise be spread out over the hundreds of other NYC shoe repair companies. I trust SF reviews because people honestly describe their experiences with sellers and service providers, both positive and negative. Obviously they would be worthless if they were uniformly positive. I don't know why you are trying to undermine this system in this thread.
Wear for 3-4 months.
Contact Steven and demand your money back because you thought they were calf, not shell.
In reality though, the headache over demanding delivery of a pair of shoes (and following through if they tell him to piss off, which they likely will) is probably not worth the OP's time.
Pretty surprising to hear people chiming in with what they claim to be legal analysis since we haven't heard anything about the terms of an order with either Edward Green or Leffot. In my experience, Leffot takes an order, then goes out to Edward Green to confirm feasibility, then sends the customer a confirmation. Leffot makes it clear that until you have the confirmation, you haven't made an order. So, without knowing what happened here, I don't know how anyone can claim to evaluate whether a contract has been breached.
In any event, it really seems beside the point. I don't think the OP is trying to couch his complaint in terms of "they breached" as much as "they did something wrong."
You made a very valid point...
Some sellers are happy people recommending them on this forum but get pissed off when somebody is complaining about the product they're offering...
People are not stupid and can analize the situation very well themselves..
It is why SF is and must stay relevant to us....
Getting feedbacks and advice is the raison d'etre of the forum ..
Whatever the rights and wrongs here along with any legal issues another bloody own goal by Edward Green. They're not doing very well here recently.
