ok, i had been wanting to "make" my own belt for awhile now after seeing poly800rock's belts in another thread and finally got around to it. i'm really happy with the results and figure i'd post some pics.

the first is a standard quick release belt from www.dubarryboots.com. it's a solid belt but not as impressive as #2. price ~$60.

#2 is a leathergoodsconnection.com bridle leather belt with a quick release buckle from a 2005 season J. Lindberg belt. the leather on the original belt is unimpressive but the buckle is very cool. now the belt does justice to the buckle and vice versa. i can't say enough good things about Bill at LGC. if you're hesitating about getting a belt from them, go for it as i can assure you the product will be top quality. ~$60 but the J. Lindberg belt where the buckle came from i got as a gift.

the third belt is a standard harness belt from LGC. i really like the detailing on this one. ~$60.

I have pretty much the same belt as your third one (from LGC). I love it.

excellent! i just bought a j. lindberg qr belt off tangerine and it's a bit big, but can't sell it because the buckle is INSANE! will have to look into the lgc swap.

which leather options did you get for the LGC?

Having dealt with LGC, I can attest to their quality, but customer service.. leaves something to be desired. I ordered something custom from them and got somewhat screwed because I was sent the wrong color, despite being specific when I ordered it. If you order anything out of the ordinary, make sure you are extremely clear.

That Lindeberg belt buckle looks gigantic. I found that when the first thread about the EG belts showed up here, but I never knew the scale of it. Is it ridiculously big?

Haha. I also have the third belt, but with a silver buckle. It's one of my go-to casual belts.

I've also done the same as you--combined a quick-release buckle from ebay with an LGC belt.

LGC customer service has been great. When I had a problem with a Chicago screw on one of my belts and asked him to send a replacement, he sent an entire assortment of 6-8 (I didn't want to pay shipping to return the belt when I figured the fix was an easy one).

Doh! I passed up on the Lindberg quick-release tangerine was selling because it was too big, but I didn't think of getting it to swipe the buckle and make a new belt. Ah well.

i've gotten to the point where i don't even look at the belt, but only the buckle, unless it's an amazing leather belt. Coach jeans belt have the best roller buckle i've come across, but the leather is only so so. ~$20-$40 on ebay. Old banana republic brass buckles are the heaviest things i've come across as well. wish they still sold those.

1 3/4 in, dark brown, wheat stitching, brass Chicago screws, keeper loop, and tongue slot (the last three options are from the harness leather belt page that are also available for the bridle leather belts...just add them to the description area of your order).
