Leather vs. Canvas duffle bags

What do you prefer and why?

Too much maintenance for leather. It is also very heavy.

Canvas just works out better over all.

I like the look of leather duffles but cost and durability go to canvass.

A duffle is casual and canvas is the best choice. The weight factor also makes canvas a better choice.

Canvas - can take rougher treatment and you can air it out (or even wash it) after a few months of sweaty gym clothes.

+1 - too bloody heavy for hand luggage and too soft to check into the hold with your suitcases.

i maintain 100k miles per year with my leather duffel. its moss green - extremely subdued tint.

works for me.
