when wearing leather, how concerned are you with matching colors, textures, animals, etc.?

i reckon i'm gonna try to explain myself a bit better....

i've recently gotten the urge to get myself another leather jacket. haven't had one in 10 years (high school), and back then i didn't necessarily pay attention to what i was wearing.

anyways, i'm really into the aero highwayman and having trouble deciding if i want to get a brown or black one.

i'm wondering if i'd get more mileage out of the black one and whether it will really matter what kind of shoes (or materials) i'm wearing with it. i generally wear chucks and PFs but will also be needing some boots for the fall season. i can envision the brown one causing a bit more trouble as far as what's on my feet.
