leather splitting on heal - anything I can do?

on the left shoe, you can see some visible splits in the leather on the heel area. 3 of them, although the one in the middle is hard to see do to flash.

anyways, these are nearly vintage shell loafers that I really love, so would like to keep them for a while.

but I assume these splits will just get worse as I wear them? anything I can do?

I guess it's the leather way of saying, to let it go
