you know, one of those things one brings to a job interview and such

willing to spend up to 100 range, but cheaper the better, of course.
all that i've been able to find after a cursory google search have been atrociously ugly. and everything at the local bookstore have the school seal on it, which i'm not down with....

I've got a leather maroon-red portfolio, was a corporate gift for my dad.. 20 years ago? Something different than the black or brown portfolios, I like it.

Heck, Office Depot has a good variety for $30 or so. If it's just for an interview, they're probably durable and non-stylish enough.

NDC has been things like wallets and document holders recently. I personally love the washes on NDC shoes, so I would go for one of those. Edit: Looks like the NDC portfolio/document holder is $300 bucks, but it looks awesome.

I bought a really nice leather leather portfolio from Yoox a while ago for around $50. It's made by A.G. Spalding & Bros, same people who make baseball gloves. The leather is nice and thick, and the construction is top notch.

+1; I bought a few leather envelope-style portfolios from them, too. I think that it is an Italian company that has simply licensed the Spalding name for distribution in the Euro market. They actually are quite well made and expensive products; I guess they wanted an "American" sounding name for Italy the same way some US brands will try to make an Italian sounding name to get clout. In any case, they're beautiful items and I use them all the time. EDIT: Found a pic:

I have a Hartmann one. I think it was about $70 from their factory store. It's held up well for me.

Currently where I work dozens of these in all shades of leather and all qualities of leather are being thrown out in our big move around and agency reorganisation. Every one ism oving to a new office. You see no one over here uses them anymore, it's all laptops. On any given day you could pick 2 or 3 out of the large rubbish containers we had dotted round here for all sorts of office rubbish.

Psst - Spirit of 69 - If you can find a leather portfolio that said "Totalförsvarets Pliktverk," I'd be pretty down for that. Or maybe one in M90 camo?

SHIT! Seriously, I wish I'd known. I saw one of those last week, but it was in black vinyl not leather. You see Pliktverket is in the same govt building as my agency. I'll keep an eye out & if I come across another one I'll PM you. Shite I wish I'd rescued a few now, especially those with agency names and logos on. And the reason I didn't is that I have never had the need for one & can never envision myself
needing one. For us, when we travel, it's rucksack, laptop bag and overnight bag.
