Leather moto jacket, never rode a motorcycle in my life!

Hi everyone!

I'm in need of some advice and/or tips.

A few days ago I bought a leather jacket which I thought looked really cool and looked good on me. It was on clearance for 200$ which "is" a lot of money for me and I rarely pay more than 100$ for cloth. Maybe once a year.
400

Right one day after I bought it I started looking online to find out what kind of cloth is more stylish to be worn with a leather jacket, and it was only at that moment which I realized that wearing a leather jacket can say so many different things about you. I also found out that the jacket I bought is called a moto jacket and is used by motorcycle riders.

I can't return that jacket and I also really like the way it looks. I need help to know how can I wear it without giving the impression that I'm a rider and even more important without giving the impression that I'm "trying" to show I'm a rider.

P.S. in my defense, I'm originally from Iran and been here in Canada for only close to 17 months and back in Iran a leather jacket is just a leather jacket and more than the material of the cloth, the color and the combination of cloth you wear gives impressions to others. I had no idea about all these stories behind leather jackets :(

Thanks everyone in advance for the time you put to read and help.

It's a leather jacket. Don't worry about it being a moto jacket, any more than I worry about moleskin trousers being for ratcatchers or shirts with buttondown collars being for polo players.

Your post reminds me of a piece by our own @dieworkwear :

He's written a few other things about leather jackets, too.

I would imagine that 99% of the people you see wearing motorycle jackets wouldn't have a clue how to put a motorcycle into first gear, so rest easy, you are not alone, lol

Seriously, I wear work boots to Whole Foods on Saturday mornings to buy soap and almond milk, and I probably haven't held a shovel or pushed a broom a day in my life..
