Wasn't aware that AL, now SB, made any jackets from CXL HH, as that's an exclusive agreement between Aero and Horween.

The jacket was custom made for VMC Original in Zürich, Switzerland, so i guess they arranged the whole Chromexcel Horsehide thing.

After a few extra months of waiting I got my jacket from Thurton Bros. Buco inspired/replica J24 built on the Aero Ridley cut for a slimmer fit and an added D pocket. Overall pretty happy with this, my only complaint would be the chest zipper causing a flaring effect making the chest area look a little wider than it is. Not really a big issue as this will double as my moto jacket

Great looking jacket. I'll bet it will sit better in the chest once it's broken in too

Aero is allowed to use the Buco tag? That's pretty cool.

My Aero J100 has the same Buco tag.

In order to maintain a registered trademark, the owner of the mark must continue to use it. 18 U.S.C. § 2320(d)(1)(A)(ii). Buco ceased using its mark several years ago. Therefore, other companies may freely use the Buco trademark, and need not license it.

Interestingly, back when the remnants of the Buco company still existed, Real McCoys formally licensed the Buco trademark. Today, RMC's license is unnecessary.

This is my riding jacket. Worn all spring, summer, and fall since 2008 (or maybe 2009?)

I don't remember who makes it, but it says "British Motorcycle Gear" on the only label that's left.

That's actual patina on the snaps. It is in need of a cleaning and conditioning, but this year I've been occupied with other things. It will be properly cleaned up soon though.

    Lookin good man
It's hard to tell - are the sleeves starting to show as much brown as I think I'm seeing in the 2nd pic or is that just odd lighting? (not a judgement - I've never posted a pic on this forum other than crappy iphone ones)

The whole jacket is a dark brown. The tops of the sleeves and the shoulders are showing the most wear, probably because they are always directly in the wind and weather. In the colder months I wear a vest over the jacket, which likely protects the chest and back from suffering the wind and weather as much as the shoulders and bicep area. The forearms are likely darker because they aren't hit with the drying wind as much in the position in which I ride.

The sleeve forearm areas have developed that ring pattern creasing you see there because of my riding position, I assume, as well as the fact that the fit is not tailored, it's just off the rack. Same with the creasing at the bottom of the jacket where it folds up in my riding position because it's probably an inch or so too long for me.

Once I clean it and recondition it, the fading on the shoulders and upper arms will probably blend back in for awhile.

This jacket is more than just a garment or piece of safety equipment to me... I've formed a relationship with it over the years and it's probably my most prized possession!

Just picked up the LVC Menlo Cossack jacket. Sorry for the crappy iPhone photo. Camera battery was dead.

You need to get out more. The variety of leather jackets is overwhelming if you actually look. You can easily find great stuff at any price point. Importantly a good one will last 30 years. So how can it be "expensive" with that return?

Does anyone have a FQHH jacket that's really beat up and well used? I want to see how it looks after the top coat of dye fades off.
