All this 5 zip talk, any good places to look for a used one outside of grailed/ebay? Although I'm not sure if I should be on the lookout for a 46 or a 48.

I've been able to buy them on sale through SSENSE, but the discounts are usually low (first cut during sale season). Can't remember the exact discount, but it's like 30%-ish.

SSENSE looks to be sold out of all sizes except 50 at the moment.

I’ll eat my Aero board racer if this is actually the last leather jacket you purchase in 2021.

Well, I didn't last a day.

If you find that you really like this design, leather, and construction, it could be worth contacting Carrie at Thurston, explaining that you have a 9B and it's spot on (let her know the size of course) except for the waist measurement and lack of hand pockets. She'll probably have you take pictures in it, then can spec you for a MTO from Vanson that just changes those two things accordingly, and then you're good to go.

Can you expand on this? What exactly is Thurston, a brand of jacket maker? A retailer of other brands? Who would be making/branding the custom jacket, Thurston or Vanson?

I've started the process with Carrie and this was her first email to me: "The specs that you want are no problem! Let's do this...we'll start the custom process with a deposit of $600. If we get into the sizing and it turns out that we need to send you a jacket for fitting (we'll need to investigate the Japanese pattern sizing with Vanson), then we'll figure it out at that point."

So it leaves me wondering these questions. What does she mean "we'll need to investigate the Japanese pattern sizing with Vanson"? Is Vanson not making my jacket? Who is we? If Thurston is a different maker, will they have access to the same hides Vanson does? My cowhide on the 9B is apparently somewhat unique and that's part of why I like it so much.
