Could you post a pic of you wearing your jacket? Thx!

Bro it's been a journey with Five Star... I am a big boy, so really none of sf's go-to brands are ever gonna fit me. I was looking at Aero as they have large sizes, but I didn't feel like rolling the dice since I could go to mtm and get more control.

First started out with a goat suede trucker - sleeves too long, chest a bit too tight

Then got the Valstar Clint makeup in the same black goat suede - this fits me really well in am oversized way, which was exactly what I was looking for

Now here's the darkness that I didnt really want to post, but now maybe I don't care. Excuse the terrible photos on these, they were just to figure out fit amongst my friends, I wasn't planning on posting them.

Trucker in premium goat suede...

Ended up being too big all around...it was really my fault as I went up a size from the suede trucker instead of tweaking individual measurements. I washed and dried it, and it shrunk down quite nicely!

Sleeves are still too long, but I think length and chest ended up working out. Shoulders are still a bit square, but I'm hoping they break in more.

Please don't make fun of me.

Sizing leather jackets - and clothing in general - isn’t remotely easy. And custom doesn’t fix that. I’ve accepted I’ll never find the “perfect fit”. That’s why I don’t get dudes critiquing dudes’ fits on the basis of minutia like 1/2” in the chest or belly or sleeves being a little long.

Clothing folx get real hungup on Platonism.

First post here.
FiveStar is good for customizing if you know exactly what you want and can describe it in detail.
I own a few jackets from 5* and am quite satisfied.
If you have your own ideas and no everyday dimensions, it is definitely worth a try.

Particularly dumb when it comes to leather jackets which (much more so than the things clothes nerds like to say it about, like raw denim) actually do mold to the wearer's body.

Welcome, MrProper! I actually mentioned you last night in one of my posts as someone who's a great reference to look up for examples of good Aero and FiveStar orders, but it was late enough that I don't remember if I hit send before falling asleep.

Unfortunately, my English is really lousy and I don't quite get what is meant. Sleeve heads seem to be a tailor thing on the sleeves. I guess this is an (ironic?) allusion to an ill-fitting or tight jacket.

There’s a guy on here who buys a new $1500 jacket every week or so, declares that he’s finally found the perfect jacket fit, then sells it a week later and buys some more (that are basically identical). I think he’s posted 20 here in the last few months.

The joke is about that kind of obsessive jacket buying/replacement.

Thank you very much for the explanation.
And it's true, I definitely have too many jackets. Except I don't sell them and I'm happy with the fit. ;)

Anyone familiar with Blackmeans Leather? I heard there stuff run extremely small and they hand distressed a lot it. Judging by pics there stuff seems quality. I went ahead and purchased this jacket off Yoox. I'm 6'3 185lbs and and I went with a Sz 6

I’ve had several Blackmeans but none fit me, their sizing generally runs small, but a 6 may fit you. Like someone above mentioned that is a hard size to find.

they really are great jackets though. Their distressing may put off some people but they do an excellent job and the construction/materials are great. Hope it fits, that’s a cool jacket
