Back to the original spirit of this thread, can I just say that the lining of this Neighborhood X Schott collab is the bees' knees.

Extremely cool lining. The jacket looks to be otherwise identical to the Japanese market Schott 613US and 613UH [same jacket, but the former is steerhide and the latter horsehide]. I thought for a while about proxying one of the two, but the 613S/613SH sold in the US are basically the same thing, with de-Japanized sizing (still a slim fit, but suited to taller frames).

I remember being genuinely impressed by the long leathers when I saw the film as a teenager. I've wondered how common they were even at the time– Shaft is obviously very much a character, even in his own setting.

Seriously. I'm tempted (and continuously talking myself out of it because I just bought a different Schott DR) to buy one purely for the lining. I love it.

I am not big on linings in general, but I must say that I really don't get what so fabulous about this one. Its just a cotton (?) cloth with black and white stripes? ?‍♂️

Nope. Not punk. More into metal when it comes to that kind of music.

I think he meant stripes n leather jackets in general.Lining is nice but it’s more of a leather jacketdetail us SF guys would notice.

I get it. I just don't see why some supposedly cool guys having striped t-shirts and striped guitars makes a striped lining super cool. But hey, that's what makes SF a fun place. To each their own.

You can get a leather jacket relined for about $100. If you go to Joann's Fabrics or Hobby Lobby, you can find those types of striped fabrics next to the signs that make your kitchen look like a coffee shop.

A couple of those jackets definitely won't pass the tennis ball test. Probably can't even zip them.
