Leather Jackets: Post Pictures of the Best You've Seen/Owned?

Whats your chest size? A S might work if you fit into it correctly. A small would have been the right length for me, I think. Just probably would not have fit elsewhere. They do have a super easy return policy. Im glad I gave it a shot because now my curiosity is satiated.

I'm a 44" chest haha, it's hard for me to find jackets that fit well.

I'm very tempted by this suede trucker in cognac. My biggest difficulty so far is that I don't like unlined sleeves on suede jackets, the sleeves always get me if I wear a t-shirt.

It's a mash up. seems like an A2 with a Mouton collar. A G1 has button pockets and a biswing back.

Wouldn't that "ackchyually" be a G1?

So I've got an older TOJ minimalist DR here and I'm happy with it for the most part ... BUT I'd like to reshape the right lapel. There's no hard crease or anything keeping it in that place, but it's just kind of settled into a soft roll there over time. I'd prefer it break higher like the opposite side. Any idea how I can "reset" the leather to do that? It's a thicker lambskin.

I think that looks pretty good except for the biz causal look, where I don't think it works. The contrast collar makes it really casual. It looks surprisingly structured/stiff for a suede jacket, and that it might shape itself to you as you wear it. Most suede I've tried is very very soft from the get-go. What are your thoughts on it?

I also own a RRL type 2 rough out jacket which I have worn a lot, so that's where my point of compaison stands. My experience in leather jacket is limited to a few lambskin jackets that it makes no sense comparing it to.

Design wise this jacket has all I love in a suede type 3 : leather contrasting collar, no hand warmer pocket & short body length. I tend to prefer buttons to snaps, but the snaps feel right with the thickness of the rough out.

First, the cowhide rough out of the body is thick but it doesn't feel stiff. To the hand it's much thicker than my type 2.

Second. The pattern feels very well made. Measurements wise it's smaller than most of my jackets but I fit comfortably in it. The best part is the way the horsehide collar trim and the cowhide suede collar underside jive to create an S shape that lays quite well. On the other hand, my Type 2's collar is a bit on the stiff side and it messes a bit with how one of the jackets pannel rolls open when unbuttoned. This seems like a pattern flaw that's been avoided. It's pretty masterful.

I think length, both body and sleeve, is spot on for my size. No complains there.

Stitching isn't quite as straight as Real McCoys jackets are touted to be. There are a few instances of crooked lines, but it doesn't actually bother me at all. It's just factually stitched with less precision than my RRL jacket (which has worse material and patterning, was more expensive, and was made in a country where labor is cheaper). The thread is purple, which is nice.

The color of the suede is rich as ****. The seal brown horsehide trim is pigment died and there are few tiny spots where the pigment has chipped away, revealing the mimosa color of the unfinished hide. It's effectively akin to a teacore effect.

I plan to wear it a lot and I hope it's going to fit better and better with time. For now, there is a mild fit issue regarding how it lays on my trapezius but that's something I experienced with my other RO jacket and just wearing it a lot fixed it. It works well with my style in general. I agree the biz cas look was lousy but I was wearing that when I got the jacket. I just threw it on top and went about with my day.

I'm really glad I went for it even though on paper it was a slightly risky fit (it's a 40 and I'm a very full 40, often 42 especially with Japanese brands). The same jacket in 42 wouldn't have fit right.

Last thing is I got lucky with the price. I had to pay Japanese sales taxes, buyee proxy fee, buyee shipping fee with Fedex and canadian sales taxes on top of the price. It still cost me $715 USD total, which I was happy to pay. If I had been a domestic Japanese customer I would have cost me onlt $545 USD, and if Buyee arranged sales tax deduction for international buyers, it could have cost me $665 USD.

If I understood what you want to do correctly...

two ways I can think off, position it the way you like and hang it in a way where something in front of it and right after it presses the jacket.

the other being out on floor, adjust lapel to what you want, put fabric or towel on it then aweight Like an iron or dumbbell
