Please indulge another leather amateur thinking of picking up an FCL Leon Custom. At 181cm / 165lb I'm tossing up between a 40 and 42. I have pretty broad shoulders, so guess a 42 would be better fit.

But wondering whether shipping it to the other side of the world + dealing with duties, customs without the chance to try it on is foolish...

Cheers

Not a great risk/reward, but you may get lucky on sizing.

@sebastian mcfox - I'm 5'11 170-175. I took a 42 in the Leon. The shoulders were fine (could not do a 40), and the jacket otherwise fit well except it was really short and ballooned out in the back. You seem tall so just beware. I ended up letting it go even though it was extremely comfortable.

I'll second this. If you have broad shoulders go for the 42. I was able to zip the 40 but unable to move.

I reckon we’re about the same size, besides me being a several inches shorter. I’d go for the 42, or if business travel ever opens up again you can try mine on.

Ian shearling. Wore this zipped up while snowmobiling in 30° weather and was plenty warm.

I am pretty much your same height and weight and I have broad shoulders/somewhat developed back and lats, and the 42 in the Eric worked out well for me. I wouldn't have been able to do the 40

Thanks guys, really appreciate it. Looks like the 42 is the way to go, although the short body length is worrying because I have a long torso. On balance I think it might be too much of a risk with int’l shipping/returns etc.

How does Nine Lives compare in terms of quality? Looking specifically at their Mas o Menos Rider. I think there’s a chance for me to check out some stock locally

This seems like a good deal if it is your size:
