There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Thanks. I've always liked LL's, but the patch kills it for me.
Yup, I actually talked to him about his.

Glad they were able to pull this off for you, looks like they really nailed it. Well done, I love Aero's Steer.

It's super nice. Still stiff, obviously, despite it having been put through a vigorous snow shoveling this morning, which accounts for the wierd folding at the arm, since it has not broken in at all yet (just came yesterday).

Looks great on you, Fok. A lot better than their stock photo in that color.

Thanks. Their stock photos are non-excellent. A lot of customers lose out of good clothes due to a lot of companies doing a suboptimal styling job. A lot of what I do, when not here, is either figuring this out for a vendor, or taking advantage of this for a retailer or designer. I mean, the eYe jacket is just a standard Vanson, in a different leather, and then marked up a ton. Remember Nigel Cabourn's coastal commander? It was an Aero coastal commander ($900 at current exchange rates, way more if you got Nigel's version) with just an orange instead of a yellow hood.

If I could give any advice, I would say "Look past the styling." and look at the product and its potential in your hands.

Get one. They are considerably less expensive directly from Aero directly, even with the duties ($60), but you don't have the benefit of a try-out system, and I've heard that the wait is longer (the Thurston wait of 1 month is super short, for anything) Also, for MTM direct from Aero, I think that you can change more than just the length and arm length. I am lucky to be an Aero 38 for many of their models (I am a tru 40 - Aero tends to run big through the shoulders and chest and upper back, measurements notwithstanding, with just a longer arm for their "civilian" jackets, and a shorter arm for my moto style jackets (usually 25.5") But a bigger dude might want a smaller drop from the chest to the hem, etc...

At this point, I have my measurements dialed in for Aero, so it's pretty easy. And I was lucky in that they'd made one up to my exact specifications even though I had never formally ordered it, so it was just there, and I had no wait at all. the heavy steer is not for everyone though. Even though it is considerably lighter than say, my super heavy steerhide half belt, which weighs close to 8 lbs, it is a substantial jacket. For me, I like my armor, but probably a midweight but still substantial leather like the Vicenzia (which carries an upcharge, but it is super nice), is the way to go.

Once my project with Johnson's is complete (I decided to change projects), I think I'll look into doing a custom fit with Thurston on that Western/Jean style jacket. Margiela did a nice one this season as well, but I'm not about to shell out full retail on that, maybe at 50%.
