intarsia or stooges are nice

idk even the 52/54s are see barely make it to 18inch shoulders and usually the pit to pit is really tight. I know it stretches but im worried it wont stretch enough and still have a weird sausage casing tightness. No offense to kunk but ive said before that i felt some of this leathers looked waaaay to tight on him

It was an awesome jacket all around, but my wife hated how it looked (too short in the body and arms, which I sort of agreed with), so I sold it. :uhoh:

But it was great... leather was sturdy, stitching was excellent, details (authenticity, if you care about that - I do not) were spot on. Dealing with John was excellent... I imagine he may have someone answering his e-mails now, but regardless he runs a very tight ship. When I purchased the jacket he did everything himself, from sourcing and buying the leather to making the patterns, to cutting and sewing, etc. etc. The only thing I wish were different were slimmer sleeves.

Thanks, Moo. Can I ask if you're particularly tall? I know flight jackets traditionally run a bit short, but I'm wondering if yours was especially short because of your height, or because you just didn't like the style.

My alterations tailor told me once that he taught John how to sew. He's actually a flight jacket fanatic himself, and rather well regarded in the "repairing flight jackets" trade. No idea if he was exaggerating on that though.

That's not really enough money, I've never seen one that wasn't in a **** leather go that low. Also, I think you're getting confused by the measurements. The shoulder seam on RO jackets fits really tight because of where the seam lands; I've never measured mine but I'd be surprised if it was over 17 inches and I normally take 18"+ in jackets.

benes thats true, 800 for a nice RO is about minimum. i'd say up your budget a bit if you can or look to something else for now. plenty of great leathers around 800, 2nd hand ZB is a nice option that i think would vibe well with your outfits (the minimalist zb high neck jacket)

Awesome. That is bad ass. I know it's a RO thing, but are you ever tempted to tailor those sleeves just a wee bit. ;)
