I think that MMM 5 zip is nice, not everything needs to be black / grey / charcoal , a lot of people want to wear earthy colours and if thats the jacket I'm thinking of it would look a lot nicer with decent photos and in proper lighting.

I know everyone rants and raves about old MMM 5 zips etc etc but lets be honest they are just not that easy to get ahold of in good condition anymore, its not like they shop up frequently / ever except on Yahoo Japan. My MMM 5 zip is the grey heather wool one, the cut, fabric, lining and hardware are all top notch IMO, the YKK's they use are really nice, same as Schneider's.

I have the same one! The leather is actually literally distressed. Would not dye it since the leather is already damaged.

5zip definitely looks better on you than the RO and will go better with your khakis.

That one is so fresh. I would if I didn't just buy the black one.

Porter has about 2-3 of each size of the red MMM in stock, and 2 sizes sold out. :wow:

Anyway, Namor, i'm not a fan of the color, but your pic quality is not good, maybe it will look better. I like more traditional color of the 5-zip. It looks much nicer than RO, this one fits you well. You have a long arm btw.

Just received my black Margiela 5-Zip in horse leather. I like this jacket a lot, I only had time to take one quick fit pic.

Should I cut out the numbered Margiela tag inside? I feel like I should get rid of it, since it's not attached very firmly and could definitely snag on something and tear the lining. I think that was the original intention of these tags, making them easy to remove.

For anyone interested, this is the info from the tag:

    Model: S30AM0180
    Fabric: S09883
    Color: 090

I'm between a 48 and a 50, so I'd definitely say that the 5-zip jackets fit a bit small. I previously owned a 5-zip in size 52, and I sold it because it was a bit too large on me.

I tried on the black horse leather 48 at the Los Angeles MMM store, and it was too small, so the 50 is the prefect size for me.

NAMOR just picked up the same jacket in size 52, maybe he can weigh in on sizing too. (Your fit pic looks good, BTW! I like the distressed version of this jacket a lot.)

I went tts. I usually wear a large/XL and went with a 52. The next size up would have been too large in the shoulders

Close-up of the leather. What you are looking at is elbow up top, outer body on the right, and inner leather on the left [IMG] Any idea on how I can smooth out the finish? For the most part, I like the color. Just a few spots are too streaky, too distressed for my taste
