What's been your experience? I've handled a few of their pieces and liked what I saw.

I unno, I think the color lends itself to a lot of complimentary shades, blacks or browns or greys. The collar isn't too aggressive, none more than a DR jacket's I don't think

Never handled Acne leather, just like the look

My experience with that jacket is that it is a POS. I don't often say that, but it was awful. The lining was floating and just tacked in rather than properly sewn in. The leather was brittle and cheap feeling and looking, and the stitching loose and widely spaced. The cut was also bizarre. The Mr. Porter picture is the best I've ever seen it styled. In most pictures, the shoulders look like extreme pagoda shoulders, and in person... they were. The one I had for a brief second was made in India. There are some good things from India (some of the cotton dyes are tremendous.) However, leather products, you would not expect great cowhide products coming out of India. They are charging $1.5K for that now? It was $1250 not so long ago. Unless it has become 100x better, it's not worth the price. I've seen better made leather jackets from Wilsons. If you are looking for a decently made leather jacket, get one from Levis Made and Crafted, which does some decent takes on the biker for under $1K. Or just get a 5-zip for $500 more.

Would love a 5-zip, so far out of my price range

The reason why I asked is because I recently handled the ANCE gasoline moto bike and thought it was well made. The leather was substantial, yet subtle. The craftsmanship (stitching) was on par with my other leathers: RO, Yigal, MMM. The Gasoline jacket http://www.oaknyc.com/acne-black-gasoline-leather-jacket.html was made in Turkey. perhaps that explains the difference in quality? Decided against the ACNE because the cut was indeed funky. ultraslim, and extremely short. A style an ex wore, except with a cropped tank and tights. Pass

I really like what I see from Levis Made and Crafted

Good jackets for most SF style guys, the reverse cafe racer they made a season or so ago was really nice, surprised no one kopped.

Honestly speaking I've only liked the 5-zip in black with gold hardware.
