for most purposes, yes, sheepskin would be the same as lambskin when it comes to stuff like this.
just came across this on ebay...brand is "ekam"
apparently it's japanese made
well of course i was kinda stunned...seamwork is almost exactly like my julius
these at 400 (??) are only a fraction of the price
but something is restraining me from buying them, although i'll be able to afford more jackets than i'll ever need for once.
however someone who is not too attached to their favourite brand might certainly want to check these out!
Ekam is a Japanese brand made in China
I don't normally call things "overdesigned" but ... Ekam is very overdesigned.
Uncontrol is the only non-skinny asian model I can imagine it working on.
Leather texture feels a bit cheap (at least in the zoomed pic).
Because it's a cheap jacket. The entire concept of Ekam is to bring designs like Julius into a more affordable price range.
I'm thinking about ordering Carol's latest iteration of the hi neck (no gloves) next week.
Drew or anybody with experience with leather- any thoughts on bison?
Any fit pic of that jacket Eck?
here's one I stole from SZ's WAYWT thread
The grain is very pronounced because unlike cow they don't stretch the bison's hide (plus it's a major selling point). If there are no visible scars then it's very good leather indeed, as when an animal gets large enough it typically gets ticks, burs and other things that scratch and mar the skin. Structurally bison is pretty much identical to cowhide, just think of it as slightly more exotic cow.
It looks good, I was curious how the asymmetrical zips would look when worn. Any fit pic of it unzipped?
I really can't find any
*gloved version (Kangaroo)
Here are close ups for the Bison grain:
i'd say do it if you have the money to spend -- that jacket is the only leather I lust after apart from the fencing anymore...
plus that bison with scarring will still be beautiful -- nonstretched cow sounds amazing just a pain to break in and probably heavy as balls
The unzipped pic with the guys on the motorcycle looks. I say go for it.
