If the RO aesthetic is about being dark, surreal, maybe vaguely disturbing or nightmarish, I'd say that woman knocked it out of the ballpark.

She is clearly interested in design.

As for dark, surreal, vaguely disturbing - I think that most people cease to care once they hit 30 or so. She looks north of 30.

Who do you think is paying Rick's bills? RO leathers are essentially Nordstrom fare at this point. They even got a full page NYT style section feature a while back. It's the leather jacket of choice for MILFy chicks all over the more expensive suburbs. Not a joke.

When it's on Mr. Porter/net-a-porter... nothing wrong with it, just the natural progression of a company.

Sorry, forgot to turn on my sarcasm meter. That was somewhere in the vicinity of (7). Juxtaposition of the jacket against the jeans, the hair/makeup, and the surroundings generate some dissonance, at least relative to how I've seen RO styled "normally", ergo the "surreal" comment.

As far as age is concerned, I'll be 30 next year. I'll make it a point to start caring about adding dark, surreal, vaguely disturbing elements to my wardrobe. :nodding:

That's fine, but that doesn't make that pic any less weird or ugly.

here a pics of the jacket after i submerged it in warm water for 20 minutes, then threw it in the washing machine for a spin dry cycle for a couple of minutes, then hung it out to dry in the backyard, then wore it while damp to mold to body

results are that it has lost its sheen, and imo looks and fits better

pics above are pre wash

why does it matter who wears it? wear the garment for the garment. if your rep/ego is so fragile that simply wearing the same jacket as a 50 year old woman implies association, then clothes are not your problem.

I like your logic.
