So the Schott x 316 is available, any takers?
I grabbed a large. I was hoping they would do another Perfecto for the 20th anniversary. I had to sell my medium horsehide one they did a few years back as I got back into lifting and grew out of it. The leather on that one was so good. I hated that I had to get rid of it.

I find retail therapy works best when a lot of risk is involved. I don't feel any emotions anymore when ordering from within Europe and I have free returns.

I need the risk of ordering from overseas so I pay import fees. I need the added stress of being completely unable to send something back. I need to buy second hand. I need to buy items on final sale that can't be returned. I need to buy from Japanese websites with bad translation.

It's very exciting when you have no idea if you fucked up the sizing and can't do anything about it.

when retail therapy is only therapeutic when partaking in risky behavior and masochism

Went to self edge to try it on. 5'10, 180 lbs, 42" chest, ended up buying a medium.

Please guys, if you do get the collab, support the forum and sponsors who keep the lights on, and get it from Self Edge: https://www.selfedge.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=3426

Why does this Schott Perfecto look so bad on this guy? Is it the drape (maybe it's not cowhide)? Is it the sizing? Or is he just too skinny to fit it right? It almost fits him like a car coat. You know, with the longer body. But this is the 2011 Supreme/Schott collab with normal proportions.

Ok. Now I'm worried. Found more examples. Check out that shoulder width and drape. Ugh. The lesson: Don't jump on Mercari when you're thirsting for a new leather.

I think the problem is perfecto jackets didnt really work with the slim modernized silhouette back in the 2010s or so. Most perfectos were modified to remove epaulets (which were unnecessary), belt (bulky and just hangs loose 90% of the time), and elongated the body (most people arent wearing as a functional moto jacket, so the cropped length doesnt make sense). That led to the modern interpretation of the perfecto which is what you see with supreme and other schott collabs. I think the updated silhouette looks "off" as you mentioned due in part to silhouettes being more drapey and loose now, plus cropped uppers tend to be more popular.
Porter Classic did a wider, but cropped fit which is fantastic (although price is way outta range for most since its silk lined and has real silver hardware)

Another JP based brand, Old Joe, did a nice oversized and cropped leather, unfortunately its wool lined but I'd be eager to see it done with a cupro or cotton liner.

Looks good on you man. What's your impression of the leather quality? How did it feel? Is it stiff or was it supple?
TBH I have no reference. The last leather I owned was a suede 5 zip a decade ago. This leather feels way better than that did. Soft and thick as far as I can tell.

It looks that long on the first guy because he has his trousers pulled up to his nips. The jacket looks cool in the last pic though.
