This leather looks exactly like the kind Schott used on the 90th Anniversary Perfecto. Amirite? I mean, I loved the fit of that one personally but the pebbled leather was a no-go for me.

Having never seen something called a "waxy" cowhide before, my instinct was to dismiss it. But when I was in the NYC store earler in the year, I found their 519 waxy cowhide to be most appealing leather they had. Pity Schott fits like **** on me..

I think Crockett & Jones uses a wax calf for some of its rugged boots and a couple shoes. It could be a similar treatment. I think the calf is treated with a high amount of wax as part of the finishing process to make it more water resistant.

Definitely not the same leather, it might look similar but this is a brand new tannage that landed at the Schott factory 2-3 months ago, right when we started production. Pebbling is not for everyone, I get that.

Hope it's ok to pop in here and discuss. First off it's rad that our makeups always get so much love on SF, thanks guys and thanks Fok for creating a place for us to talk about nice clothes.

This jacket is cut off the exact same pattern as all other 519s but as you guys can see, leathers sew down differently. This one might look a little shorter but the measurements don't always tell the whole story. I tried on a L which is the same as what I wear in all the other makeups and it fit dead on. Dunno if this helps, but this is our NY shop manager in a size M sample (hence the nickel snaps - ignore those). He's 6'5 and pretty slender - not sure of weight - and while he prefers a size L for a little extra sleeve length, the M does not look out of place on him at all body length-wise. Hope this is a helpful reference point!

Thanks for stopping by. This release looks great. Am I correct that you did not make XXL this year? I have an XXL in the arabica release and have been trying to track one down in the roughout valiantly. Please keep making XXL. And if you have any tips on finding the roughout, I would really appreciate it.

Sadly we didn't make 2X this time (or last year), that size was always the slowest to go. Not sure where to direct you to find a roughout 2X, perhaps Grailed?

And in some non-3s related leather jacket news, I finally broke out the Schott B-3 last week post snowstorm. I love this jacket.

As mentioned earlier, I am selling a few leather jackets: a James Grose black Manila double rider (sz 42), a Laer black double rider (sz M), and a Luxire x Styleforum black moto (sz 39). Here are link to the B&S posts:

Luxire x Styleforum Moto (39)

Please PM if you guys have any questions, thanks

The Luxire Moto is still for sale. I have dropped the price to $250 if anyone is interested, thanks

Thought this was funny. Guy on a replica movie jacket forum claiming the Margiela 5zip was clearly a Wolverine movie rip off. People are dumb, especially people who wear leather jackets because they saw them in a movie.

Note to all: For all the praise Fine Creek Leathers gets and at the hefty $2000 price tag, try to avoid moving your arms when wearing their latest Roberts jacket. This just happened to me late tonight.

I am not a happy camper right now. Worn this jacket maybe less than 8 hours in total.

Man that sucks. ? I guess that's what you get for copying Wolverines awesome style, without giving him any credit. Karma.

^ Unlike Wolverine, I don't lead an action-packed life. I was literally lying in bed with it hoping to break it in while surfing the web and this happened.

Any ideas or thoughts, @kiya? It tore along the seam and honestly feels like it will only tear further if I wear it like this.

Damn that looks pretty bad, I would contact wherever you bought it from. I definitely haven't had an issue like that with my edward, and I have worn it a lot but I definitely keeping pretty chill with it overall.
