1, i would appreciate breaking and patina-ing something like that

3 is good too, but i sort of prefer the smooth grain for a winter jacket with suede/roughout being more of a spring /summer thing

I think 3 too, but that might just be me preferring suede and lighter browns.

Out of those three, I also prefer #3 - but I think I like these two more:

Shearling related, if anyone knows of an European source for a black leather coat with a black shearling collar, like Falcon's A2, please share.

I've had an acne shearling and they nail the quality. Looks better as well.

If you're going to pay full retail though the nmwa shearling is an even better option.

How do those Aero Irvin’s fit? True-to-size? I’m looking at one too but haven’t found anywhere in LA to try one on.

I've never handled it, so I can't say unfortunately.

But... Isn't a heavy shearling jacket way too warm for LA?? My guess is that you would find use for it like one day per year? At most?

Here's some pics of the Schott, and it's nice, but it's a bit too long in the body for me, and those arms

Still, the way the Acne Ian fits and is designed is so much better. It's a bit more cropped and I love how, like the RAF, it looks like a DR when worn open.

Also, the new RLPL shearling is amazing, but so is the price:

IMO sheepskin flying jackets are a naff '80s throwback for men with no style.

I like that 2nd one as well, though I can do without zip pockets.

Here's a black shearling from Sandro:

I will say, having a sandro shearling, that the quality of the leather is really nice. However, the stitching doesn't seem as sturdy in a few places, most notably for the zipper, which to me seems where it's most important.
