Love the first one.

I had a sheepskin just like the bottom one, was my father's from the 60s, and was heavy as ... wearing a full-grown sheep around my shoulders. Brutal.

My wife has a killer vintage shearling, full length, with curly-faced shearling on the lapels, but she can only wear it for an hour before her shoulders start to hurt...

I've been trying to get an id on this one for a minute. Does anyone know? I thought maybe Belstaff, but I swear I've looked through hundreds of their jackets and haven't found it.

Makes me worried. The shearling I have is actually quite light relatively speaking. :(

She's pretty slightly built, and it's a full-length coat. Probably weighs around 10-12 pounds, and if you've got that weighing on your shoulders for a while. The one my father gave me was a sheepskin, not shearling. So basically I was wearing a sheep minus the innards...(I may be generalizing here but shearlings tend to be lighter and taken from less-densely coated sheep, and they are unshorn so, again, possibly softer etc: certainly more costly)

I would wager a very sizable amount that this jacket is definitely not Belstaff

I have a custom-made Lewis Leathers jacket coming in later today, and an Aero in-production as well.

Not sure what the Styleforum consensus is on these brands, but I'll be sure to post pics when they arrive.

I have a handful of Aeros, but no modern Lewis Leathers. Interested in how that turns out.

It's their no. 60 "Corsair," but in the slim cut variant, as well. They asked for a fairly extensive set of measurements, so I'm interested to see the fit upon arrival.

Any with experience with The Real Mccoys A1 jacket chime in on sizing? Seems to run a bit tight in the chest based on measurements from different stockists.

Can't wait to see it. I wanted the Corsair and foolishly thought a Vanson Mercury would fill the need.

It didn't...not even close. Mercury up for sale and I'm still in love with the Corsair.

Vanson has their own appeal in their "Competition Weight" hide, I hear. But I went ahead with Lewis for their slimmer profile. I expect it'll look very sleek with the rather minimalistic design of the Corsair.
