Personally, I think the Gustin jacket looks great and not too difficult to wear for the average American Joes. You can grow a belly and still look decent with a clean and beautifully aged back. On the other hand, the Aero 1930s truly represents its time with look and color. I don’t think @Watchman1 is looking for that atm. And while @Zamb can easily create a pattern that fit more anatomically, I feel it’s not critical to the mass. For example, not every man will prefer heavy and stiff leather or be ready to break-in a chromexcel jacket. Supple and stretchable leathers are more idealistic for garments, hence they’re more popular.

@oulipien it is a snug fit like a racing jacket on the chest when all buttoned and also the sleeve is a bit rotated forward to help with driving or riding and the leather is still crunchy on the body, when only 3rd button is donned then the top could spread more.

I am operating under the motto of "simplicity is profundity"

An Aero is a good option but I am not crazy about their offerings in the "Natural" hues, nevertheless, I am sure they would order me whatsoever hide I desired...for a fee of course...

@sinnedk specifically what did you have in mind with regard to shoes and belts? Because this jacket (if apprehended) would fill a key niche in my repertoire. I would wear with my assortment of whiskey shell cordovans...

@Watchman1 Aero has a lighter-colored leather called Battered Tan horsehide. You've probably seen it, but I'd think it would look good in a cafe racer/board racer style. On the other hand, they have their Italian Vicenza horsehide which is more uniform in appearance.

I agree 100%...........But my approach is to a very specific customer. I have an unwavering commitment to artisanal work with a defined aesthetic. its not for everyone

Wouldn't this overlap with my Schott 530 in waxy cowhide?

If you went without a collar, yeah, it'd be similar. But you can always ask to have a collar added.

I don’t think you got it but whatever pursuit brings you happiness, go for it man. But I’m not sure making fun of fat people actually improves your self esteem, maybe some peer approval? :confused2:

@Zamb your resilience alone got my respect :inlove:

Dude, I totally do not enjoy making fun of people with weight issues...I guess I am not sure what you were trying to say that is all...so, therefore, what did you mean exactly?

that Gustin would benefit from a pair of strap and buckle adjustment on the waist, and side panel, just my opinion

@sinnedk I was thinking more along the lines of shell cordovan, but yes, I see your point...
