Gentlemen,

I just took delivery of an Aero Leather Jacket. This was my first experience with Aero and I must confess that I am very impressed with the company all around. I would rate my experience 9.5 of 10. Five Stars for sure.

The first jacket they made was an incorrect leather and the fit was a little off. But that jacket was so nice I almost kept it regardless of the wrong leather that was used.

I sent the wrong jacket back the last week of February and received my replacement yesterday which I thought was an excellent turnaround.

Here are the pics:

The fit is spot on after some adjustments to the first jacket.

I am already planning on having Aero make me another.

Happy Thursday!

(P.S. @stevent its not shell cordovan but its the next best thing i.e. Horween #8 CXL Horsehide

Looks great! What other style jacket are you planning on ordering from Aero?

I'm having a custom fitted Aero Board Racer made in Vicenza Horsehide. Should be arriving in a week or two. Will also be my first Aero jacket and looking forward to seeing how it is.

I had a bad experience with aero (or more-so thurston bros) with my first custom purchase. Essentially ended up having to sell the jacket at a $500 loss because it didn't fit correctly but they said their specs were within the acceptable range. I'm looking at a ready made used Aero half belt that looks to be perfect for my size, but then again I've also been eyeballing an eastman jacket too

Any ideas where i could get a jacket similar to this one ?
What I want is an uderstated biker jacket and by that I mean small lapels, no belt and in general the one that doesn't scream rock star or a biker gang. It has to be slim fitting too. Something similar to the one that Ryan is wearing would be perfect. Price range no more than 400-500 euros. Any brand recommendations in that price range ? Im still trying to figure out whether I want a bomber or a biker. So far I've looked at AllSaints and some other brands but Im open to new suggestions and Im sure you guys can point me into new direction. Thanks in advance
Not sure if you can order from the UO US site from the EU, but:
Schott x UO perfecto in a couple of sizes marked down to $399: http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=41344102&category=SALE_M_NEW Additional 17% off for 'UO Insiders', which I think just means signing up for their mailing list.
Also, I think Schott has a budget line specific to the EU. Not MIUSA and probably not as 'nice' as mainline Schott, but it's an option if you're strict on the price point.

never see it for sale though

Save your money from All Saints, their leather is average at best. At that price range you can try a SF affiliate @craftsmanco , they offer bespoke service which meets your needs.

Received my first Aero Premier Half Belt two weeks ago. Really happy with how it turned out, and the front quarter horsehide is getting softer with each wear. Only nitpick I had with the ordering process was that I was originally quoted 8-10 weeks, but didn't receive my jacket until the 16th week.

I did notice this broken thread yesterday (see below) and wanted opinions on whether or not this would impact the structural integrity of the jacket. I have only worn the jacket 6-8 times and I normally don't wear my clothes hard, so seeing this surprised me. I tried my best getting a picture (it's at the shoulder seam). I would contact Aero, but they're out until Monday. Opinions from those more knowledgeable than me would be appreciated!

Other than the broken thread I am really happy with how this turned out. Already planning my next jacket - thinking of a custom Bootlegger with the "Sunburst" pattern on the back. Assuming they're able to accommodate that, of course.

somebody else may have a different opinion but i don't think this is a big deal at all.

there is a first seam hidden directly underneath the forward fold of the shoulder line, there is the top stitching (with the popped stitch as you've shown) but these are all flat lock stitches and going through at least 3 layers it's probably stuck in pretty good. on top of that the spot that is popped is actually crossed over by the armscye stitching so the coincidence of stitching there should keep everything together with no problem. it looks like the armscye stitching is also felled so i would think all in all you're in good shape.

tldr i would wear it with no reservations.
