Leather jackets NEWBIE

Hi, my first post here.

I am looking for a leather jacket to last me a good couple (or more) years.

I am not a fashion inclined person but would love to be more stylish. Anyway, i found this video on youtube about this guy Alpha M, and the jacket he wears is absolutely beautiful.

Anyway i found this jacket online, it isn't as grainy but it looks like it, besides its made by levis which i love.

What are your opinions? Should i go for it? I am about 210lbs 6feet.

Are there other brands i should be looking into? I like Levis though...

Any help would be appreciated because it will be my first leather jacket.

Off the top of my head, I'd question how well you'd fit a medium.

I'd take some time first to review some different kinds of leather jacket styles and figure out what you like or don't like, i.e. the one in your link is a moto which is defined by it's collar, there are also variants with 2 front pockets instead of 4, it is essentially a riding jacket though people who actually ride may scoff at that. In comparison there are fashion jackets which are more of what you'll see on a runway, flight jackets and other militaria variants along with other styles of vintage jackets.

You should also have some grasp of what different leathers are like, i.e. soft lambskin is probably going to be a fashion jacket, steerhide or goatskin is harder and horsehide is even harder. This will also factor into the longevity of the jacket and what you can do with it.

Like your video said you should get your measurements and preferably try on the jacket you want to buy, some jackets are meant to be layered under and are sized up for that, while others are not.

Lastly consider your budget, for what that ebay listing is going I'd expect a pretty soso jacket, around the 800-1k US range you start having a bunch of interesting options for quality made to measure jackets.
